The Uros are some eighty islets built from totora reed, inside the Titicaca National Reserve. The families living there still rebuild the ground under their feet every few months, and that is what they talk about when they welcome you: how an island is made, how they fish, and what changed once tourism arrived.

The itinerary, hour by hour

  1. 08:30

    Hotel pickup

    We collect you from your hotel in Puno and drive to the port.

  2. 09:00

    Boarding at Puno port

    We board the tourist boat and start sailing towards the floating islands.

  3. 09:30

    Arrival at the Uros

    One of the communities receives us and explains how they build the islands from reed, how they live and what they keep from their ancestors.

  4. 10:30

    Time on the island

    Room to see the local craftwork, take photographs and, if you want, take the traditional reed-boat ride.

  5. 11:00

    Return

    We board again and sail back towards the port of Puno.

  6. 11:30

    Back in Puno

    Disembark and transfer back to your hotel. End of service.
