This is the programme that most changes the idea people arrive with. You sleep in the house of an Amantani family, climb Pachatata or Pachamama for sunset, and cross to Taquile the next morning. Community tourism as it actually is: the family cooks, shares and explains.

What is the Amantani homestay like?
It is a family house on the island, simple and clean. It is not a hotel — that is the point of the programme. You stay with the family who also cooks and shares the table.
Does it get very cold at night?
Yes. Amantani sits above 3,800 m and the night drops hard. Warm clothes are not optional.
Is there electricity and hot water?
The service is basic and varies by house. Bring a torch and do not count on hot water.
